Drug General Information

This medicine belongs to the corticosteroid group of drugs and is used to help your body maintain the proper balance of water and minerals. Make sure you inform your doctor about any particular medical conditions before taking this medicine (allergies, pregnancy or breast-feeding).

Medicine taking

Follow the directions provided by your doctor. 

The missed dose is to be taken immediately as soon as you remember, the remaining doses are to be taken at regular intervals. However, if according to the schedule the next dose is to be taken within a short period of time, it’s recommended to skip the missed dose and take the rest of the days’ doses as specified.

Precautions

Do not exceed the dose recommended by your doctor or take this drug more often than indicated. As you continue taking it keep all the appointments and tests so that your condition could be easily monitored. Consult your doctor before you start taking any other medication

For women: if you are planning to become pregnant, consult your doctor in order to learn about using this medicine and any risks involved. If you are breast-feeding make sure you consult your doctor before taking this medicine.

Possible Side Effects

Consult your physician immediately in case of experiencing severe or continuing headaches, swelling of feet or lower legs, unusual weight gain, dizziness. If any other side effects occur and appear to be bothersome contact your doctor as soon as possible.

Storage

The drug is to be stored away from direct light or open fire in a hermetic container.

Overdose

The main symptoms of Florinef overdose are the following: high blood pressure, water retention, excessive weight gain, muscle weakness. In case of the drug overdose immediately contact the doctor.

If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

Additional Information

Do not share this drug with those to whom it was not prescribed. Use this drug only to treat specific medical conditions as prescribed by your doctor. If using this medicine for an extended period of time, obtain refills before your supply runs out.
