Lioresal

Drug General Information

Lioresal is an efficient muscle relaxant used for the treatment of muscle spasms related to multiple sclerosis or spinal cord injuries.

Make sure you inform your doctor of any other medicines you are currently taking in order to learn bout the possible interactions and dangers involved. Make sure you mention any other medical conditions hat you have to your doctor (allergies, stroke, seizures, serious kidney problems, pregnancy or breast-feeding)

Medicine taking

Follow the directions on the label and those provided by your doctor.

The missed dose is to be taken immediately as soon as you remember, the remaining doses are to be taken at regular intervals. However, if according to the schedule the next dose is to be taken within a short period of time, it’s recommended to skip the missed dose and take the rest of the days’ doses as specified.

Precautions

This drug might cause drowsiness or dizziness; it’s not recommended to get engaged into any hazardous activities during the period of treatment until you know how your body is likely to react to the use of this drug. Lioresal also enhances the influence of alcohol and other antidepressants.

For women: If you plan on becoming pregnant, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. This medicine passes into breast milk. If you are breast-feeding while you are using this medicine, consult your doctor to discuss the risks to your baby.

Possible Side Effects

Possible side effects you might experience when taking this drug include drowsiness, difficulty sleeping, dizziness, fatigue, nausea, constipation or headache. If these symptoms continue or appear to be bothersome, contact your doctor.

Contact your doctor immediately in case o experiencing confusion, frequent urination, vomiting, increased weakness of arms or legs, blurred vision or slurred speech.

An infrequent allergic reaction might occur. The most common symptoms are rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, or trouble breathing. If you become aware of any other unusual of bothersome effects, consult your doctor or nurse.

Overdose

The main symptoms of Lioresal overdose include vomiting, muscle weakness, drowsiness, slow breathing, and seizures. In case of the drug overdose immediately contact the doctor.

Additional Information

Do not share this drug with those to whom it was not prescribed. Use this drug only to treat specific medical conditions as prescribed by your doctor. If using this medicine for an extended period of time, obtain refills before your supply runs out.

If you are currently taking other drugs and are not sure about their interaction with this one, consult your doctor to learn about it as certain medicines might make Lioresal less efficient or cause serious side effects.
