Tamiflu

Drug General Information

Tamiflu is a medicine used to treat the main symptoms of flu.

Medicine taking

Tamilfu might be taken with or without food. It is recommended to take 75 mg of this drug orally two times a day during 5 days. The treatment is to be started within the period of 1-2 days of the appearance of symptoms.

The missed dose is to be taken immediately as soon as you remember, the remaining doses are to be taken at regular intervals. However, if according to the schedule the next dose is to be taken within a short period of time, it’s recommended to skip the missed dose and take the rest of the days’ doses as specified.

Precautions

It is not known whether Tamiflu passes into breast milk. If you are breastfeeding consult your doctor in order to discuss potential risks and benefits.

Possible Side Effects

The side effects cause by the use of Tamiflu tend to be mild and rare. You might experience nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, dizziness, headache, cough, insomnia, tiredness or drowsiness.

Storage

The drug is to be stored at the temperature of 36º to 46ºF. Avoid freezing.

Overdose

Contact your doctor as soon as you experience such symptoms of overdose as vomiting or nausea with vomiting.
